Terms of use
In effect from 4 November 2026.
These are the terms on which you may use Pokut. Using it means you accept them. They are short on purpose.
What Pokut is
Pokut is a ledger for a group that fines its own people. A group records what happened — a fine, a payment, an expense, an advance — and Pokut keeps the books and shows everybody where they stand.
Pokut records money. It never moves money. A payment entry is somebody's assertion that cash changed hands outside Pokut. There is no card, no wallet, no transfer and no settlement. Pokut can show a group's bank details and a code to scan; the transfer happens in your banking app, between you and your bank.
What Pokut is not
- It does not decide whether a fine is owed. Your group decides that.
- It does not collect anything from anybody and takes no part in enforcing a group's arrangements. A fine in Pokut is your group's own agreement with its people, not a debt owed to us.
- A figure in Pokut is a record of what a group entered. It is not an invoice, not a statement of account, not a tax document and not advice. If you need any of those, Pokut is not where they come from.
- It is not a bank, a payment service or a money transmitter.
Using Pokut
- Pokut is free of charge. If that ever changes you will be told before it does.
- You sign in with an emailed code, with Google or with Apple. One account belongs to one person; do not share it or sign in as somebody else.
- You must be at least 16, or have a parent's or guardian's agreement.
- Record honestly. An entry you make is about a real person and changes what they owe.
- Do not put personal remarks in a note. A note is part of the group's financial record and cannot be quietly removed later — the privacy policy explains why.
- Do not use Pokut to harass anybody, to break the law, or to try to reach data that is not yours.
Groups, and what each role may do
A group takes people in and gives each of them a role.
Sets the prices, the people and who sees whose debt.
Records fines and payments and sees every balance. Removes nobody.
Reads, and records nothing. Always sees their own figure.
Two consequences worth stating outright, because joining a group is agreeing to them: a manager or admin can record an entry about you without asking you first, and how much of your figure other members see is the group's choice, not yours. If a group gets either of those wrong for you, the remedy is with the group — and you can leave.
Corrections
An entry is voided or amended, never quietly deleted, so a correction stays visible as a correction. Voiding cannot be undone. If a group's books do not add up, Pokut withholds the figures rather than showing wrong ones.
Leaving
You may stop using Pokut at any time, and you may ask to be erased on the terms in the privacy policy. Leaving a group keeps your history in that group's books — a former member's entries stay, because removing them would change what everybody else owes. A former member can never be the subject of a new entry.
An account may be closed if it is used to harass somebody, to break the law, or to attack the service.
Your group's records are yours
Pokut claims no ownership of what a group records and will not use it for anything but running the service.
Availability
Pokut is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, uninterrupted or free of faults. Features may change or be withdrawn. If Pokut is ever discontinued, you will be told in time to get your group's records out, as far as that is within our control.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Pokut is not liable for a dispute between you and your group, for a figure somebody entered wrongly, for money that did or did not change hands, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and the courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top moves and you will be told in the app before a change that matters takes effect.
